Welcome

Hello Students.

We are in the process of setting up our blog site for the summer 2007. In the coming days I will post the full syllabus and any other information you may need to look over before you depart. As I myself just re-read the syllabus it does seem like a lot to take in, I wouldn't worry too much about your project you'll create in Japan, but focus on the pre-departure readings, especially the readings in "A Lateral View." Also, take a little time and pick out your artist you will do your art history report on. Doing this research before you arrive will make your life a little less hectic in Japan.

There are 2 website I suggest you take a look at, www.japantoday.com and www.japan-guide.com. The first site is an English version of japanese news, has a link to the English magazine, Metropolis, which has some great info on whats happening in Tokyo, what museums and galleries are showing what. And the other site has great travel info and just general cultural info on living in Japan.

Don't forget to bring samples of some of your current work.

And that's it for now. Please let us know if you have any questions, and I'll be meeting you all very soon!

-Abby
